February Pupbox Unboxing

Since you guys enjoyed my last doggy subscription box unboxing, I figured I’d show off the second box that I get for Boba each month! Pupbox is the same concept as Barkbox – a monthly subscription that includes 5-6 items each month! We love this one because it usually includes more than just toys and treats. In the past we have received travel water bottles, bandanas, and a toothbrush and toothpaste!

I really love these sort of subscription boxes because it always includes a different array of treats and it’s awesome to mix it up constantly so Boba doesn’t get bored of his usual ones! In this month’s box, Boba got ‘It’s Purely Natural’ Chicken Tenders and ‘La Petit Treat’ peanut butter and apple treats. He was loving the Chicken Tenders the most, it’s the end of the month now and he has already finished off the bag! It was the perfect mid-day snack for him.

One of the toys in this month’s Pupbox was the ‘Go Dog’ Flying Pig! Boba is a heavy chewer, he can’t have stuffed toys because he rips them up immediately and makes such a mess! The only time he ever gets them is in these boxes, so I don’t mind cleaning up the mess as much because he really does have so much fun doing it. This toy he was so cute with, he carried it around with him for about two days, only ripping off the ears and wings, and even slept with it! He inevitably destroyed it, but I was surprised it actually lasted!

Next was the Himalayan Dog Chew Seasoning. I didn’t know if he was going to like something like this but now if I don’t sprinkle it over his food, he is so disappointed! He has been so obsessed with this!! I just know he gets bored of his same dog food, so I love the idea of this! I think I’m going to repurchase when we run out, or find something similar!

Lastly, he got the Rock n Roller. He’s pretty uninterested in this one, honestly. He hasn’t really picked it up or played with it. It’s kind of weighted and has a rubber-y smell to it. I didn’t understand what it even was at first, but apparently it’s supposed to be great for tug of war and to give them something to chew and bite down on. I really like the tie dye look of it though, it’s super cool looking!

Another thing I really love about Pupbox is that it comes with a sheet that gives you some training and development advice based on their age! It’s very informative and has seriously been so helpful! If you have a younger pup, this is an amazing box to try out! As your puppy grows, the box grows with you!

Boba always looks forward to his monthly boxes, as do I just because I loved opening them with him! He gets so excited about each item inside, it is so cute! Although this box is great for all dogs, I think this is best for younger ones. Boba has a special coupon code to help you save some money on your own subscriptions, too! Just use ‘BOBA’ at checkout! I hope you enjoyed this month’s unboxing and some more Boba content! Thanks for reading!

February Barkbox Unboxing

When I adopted my pup Boba, back in May, I knew I wanted to sign him up for one of those puppy subscription boxes so he would have a little surprise each month, with new toys and treats! I decided to sign him up for Barkbox because it was highly recommended to me, and he has been loving them ever since! He knows exactly when it comes in and gets so excited and crazy trying to open it! You guys have been wanting some more Boba content on the blog, so I thought a little unboxing from him would be fun! Here’s the link to sign up (we are not affiliated with Barkbox) and we went for the year long plan – definitely worth it!

Boba is signed up for the “Heavy Chewer” box because he tears up his toys so quickly! He still gets the super cute toys, but the best part is that once he destroys the outside, there is a little spiky ball inside that he cannot tear through – it’s like a two in one!

If you have a dog, I highly recommend Barkbox! We have tried a few others, but this is Boba’s favorite! I also love this one because each month is a fun, new theme – so cute! Let me know what else you guys want to see on the blog with Boba!

Healthy Pumpkin Apple Dog Treats

I made these dog treats for the first time a few months back, and shared them on my dog, Boba’s, Instagram page! They were a huge hit both with Boba and his following so I wanted to save this recipe here for safe keeping! It’s super simple to whip up and is great for your pups digestive system! If you enjoy posts like these, let me know! I love making homemade treats, both for myself and my pup!

Fredricksburg, TX | Travel Diary

I have been itching to travel lately! It’s been three months since my last trip and I have been needing to just get out of my own space. My boyfriend and I have put together a list of places we want to see and visit this year and we already have a few trips lined up! We have been wanting to do a lot of road trips so that we can travel with Boba, my 10 month old Australian Shepard. To test the waters, and just kind of get out of the house and do something new, we decided to take a spur of the moment mini road trip to Fredricksburg, TX! If you’re new, I live right outside of Austin, so this isn’t a far trip for me, only about a 2 hour drive, but this would be Boba’s very first trip!

We packed up our overnight bags, Boba’s bed, and a few toys, and we hit the road. I wanted more of a cabin feel, so we searched on AirBnB and found a ton of quaint, cute little homes. The place we picked was super cozy and had us feeling right at home.

Fredricksburg is full of amazing wineries, so although Hugo and I aren’t huge wine drinkers, we had to make a pit stop! We looked up dog friendly wineries in the area and about 90% of them were welcoming to furry friends! The one that stood out the most though… Fat Ass Ranch and Winery. Yep. How could we not go?

As I mentioned earlier, Hugo and I don’t really drink wine so we don’t really know the difference between bad six dollar finds and an aged twenty year old eighty dollar bottle. This winery was know for their sweet, fruity flavored wines – they didn’t even carry reds! It worked out great for us because, of course, our extremely refined taste buds gravitate more towards super sweet white wines! We did a tasting that featured a peach, watermelon jolly rancher, cranberry “holiday” flavor, strawberry, and a sangria. Besides the cranberry flavor, Hugo loved all of them! However, I could only get down with the sangria, peach, and strawberry! Overall, not a bad tasting, of us, it was only $20, wine glasses included!

I didn’t get any photos from the night we arrived because it was so dark and we mainly did outdoor activities so that we could take Boba everywhere with us. Main Street in Fredricksburg is filled with a ton of mom and pop shops and amazing food places, so we walked the streets with Boba and checked out a few of the stores. For dinner we went to an amazing place called Hondo’s that seemed to be “the spot” around there. The menu isn’t super vegetarian friendly, so I went with a quesadilla and Hugo had steak enchiladas. We also split the most mouth watering cheesy curly fries, covered in chipotle ranch. It was my goodbye meal to my old friend, cheese. You will be missed in 2018. Gone but not forgotten.

It was such an awesome trip and I am so glad we got to do it before Hugo had to leave town to go back to school! Sometimes you just need a night away. I am looking forward to many more road trips this year, our next stop hopefully being Denver! If you have any suggestions of places to check out, please let me know below! Thank you so much for reading! XO
