Although I have been going foundation free 90% of the time lately, I have found some new favorites within the past few months and need to share them with you guys! These all happen to be high-end products, but please let me know if you would like a separate post on my drugstore favorites, as well! I haven’t tried nearly as many from the drugstore, but I do have a few ride or dies! I’m typically a full coverage queen when it comes to foundation, but I also have very dry and sensitive skin, so these are products that have worked best for my specific needs!
The Hourglass Stick Foundation has been a favorite of mine since it first came out. I love how quick and easy stick foundations are to apply, but my usual gripe with them is how greasy and thick they feel on the skin. This is not the case at all with this one! It is an extremely full coverage foundation, a little goes a long way with this, but it feels super lightweight on the skin and it stays matte and in place all day long. It’s more a demi-matte finish, no shine or anything, but you just look to have very healthy skin with this on. It also doesn’t cake up throughout the day! This is one I will continue to re-buy over and over again, I just cannot rave enough about it! I use the shade Alabaster, for reference, and I like to apply it with a beauty blender.
The Jouer Essential High Coverage Creme foundation is more of a recent favorite, I believe this came out in October/November 2017. This one has the most insane coverage, I use the teeniest half pump to cover my whole face and all the way down my neck – it’s CRAZY. I of course love this one because of the amazing coverage, but it also seriously makes my skin look airbrushed. It’s the most lightweight foundation I have ever tried, it actually feels like you have absolutely nothing on your skin. I apply this one with a big oval brush, but if you want to sheer it out, use a beauty blender. I find that this is one best for up to 8 hour wear though, then it starts to kind of crease up and get oily in my T-zone. I use the shade Alabaster in this one, as well.
The only favorite of mine that isn’t full coverage is the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better, and it’s exactly how it sounds. This is a very light foundation, you can build it up, but at most it’s medium coverage. I love to use this when I need to quickly get up and go, or just for everyday errands. It brightens your skin, evens out your skin tone, and gives you a healthy, natural glow. This one doesn’t cover up much, so my freckles still show while wearing it, and I love that about it! The shade range isn’t the best, but since it’s a light coverage you might be able to make it work without finding your “perfect match”. I have the shade fair, which is a little on the pink side, but it works out just fine for me!
My newest favorite is the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear foundation and oh my goodness… You guys. This is the most natural full coverage foundation I have ever experienced. It feels lightweight, there is no caking up, even during a 12hr+ wear, and it lasts forever and still looks fresh. Straight from the website, it’s described as “breathable, fade-resistant formula, infused with Raspberry, Apple, and Watermelon extracts to help smooth and improve the look of your skin instantly”. I cannot get over how great my skin looks with this on! I use a beauty blender to apply it and I only need one pump to cover my whole face. Right now I’m using the shades Mont Blanc and Gobi, mixed, to get my perfect match.
Last, but not least, the Bare Minerals BarePro foundation. Another full coverage fave, I love this one because it’s super breathable on the skin and doesn’t feel too thick or heavy. Even if I don’t use a pore minimizing primer beforehand, this foundation makes it looks like I have no pores at all! Not only does it make your skin look healthy, but it’s actually made with skincare ingredients to help improve the hydration, pore size, and texture of your skin. It also has SPF 20, so it’s amazing for your skin! I has a very matte finish to it, but isn’t too drying, and lasts for hours – it’s said to have 24hr wear, but I’ve never worn foundation that long to see if the claims are true! However, it did last during a 14hr day at a music festival, so I believe it! I use the shade Fair 01 and apply it with a beauty blender.
